Why is my credit card not being accepted?

Discover possible reasons why your card might not be accepted for deposits at Blueberry Markets and how to resolve them.

Credit card declines are a common issue that may be caused by various reasons. Also, there can be times when your card works with one merchant but not with another.

Below is a list of what we recommend that you do:

  • Verify your credit card details
Double-check your card number, CVV code, and expiry date. Even the smallest mistake can lead to a failed transaction. Take the time to ensure all details are entered accurately.
  • Ensure account name alignment
Verify that your credit card’s name matches your trading account’s name. Deposits should originate from a card bearing the same name as the trading account to avoid issues.
  • Check your credit limit
Have you reached or exceeded your credit limit? Maxing out your card can prevent further transactions. Review your credit limit and consider paying off some balance if needed to free up available credit.
  • Review payment history
Ensure the credit card payments are up-to-date. Overdue balances can result in temporary holds on your card by the provider, impacting your ability to make new purchases.
  • Verify card status
An expired or deactivated card won’t work for transactions. Check the expiry date on the card and verify its active status with the provider.
  • Note third-party fees
Understand that while Blueberry Markets covers certain transaction fees, additional fees may be imposed by banks or payment providers. Users are responsible for these fees incurred by third parties.
  • Follow card verification processes
Some credit card issuers may require additional verification processes like two-factor authentication. Ensure compliance with any requests to facilitate successful transactions.
  • Verify funds availability
While deposits usually reflect swiftly, it might take up to 2 hours for funds to appear in the trading account in some cases, coming in between credit transactions.
  • Check card type compatibility
Confirm you’re using a VISA or MasterCard, as these are the accepted card types for deposits on the platform. Using other card types may result in transaction failures.
  • Verify country of issuance
If your card is issued in a different country from your registered country, Blueberry Markets may require additional documentation during withdrawal processes. Ensure you have necessary documents like card or bank statements ready to ensure successful transactions.
  • Reach out to your card provider
If the issue still persists, it is time to contact the card provider for assistance. Here are some key points to discuss with them:
    • Transaction amount limits: Inquire about any daily transaction limits. Unusually high deposits may trigger security blocks, so it is essential to understand the card’s limits.
    • Merchant holds: If one has recently rented a vehicle or checked into a hotel, merchants may place holds on the card until the transaction is finalized. Multiple holds can tie up the available credit.
    • International transaction restrictions: If a user is making international transactions, ensure this feature is enabled by the card provider. Transactions from foreign countries may be blocked for security reasons if not pre-authorized.
    • Merchant classification: Sometimes, the card provider may block transactions from certain merchants if they are classified as risky or related to gambling, like in the case of a forex broker. Confirm if any restrictions are in place for transactions with our merchant name, “BLUEBERRY PRIME PARTNERS PTY LTD”

If all else fails, we suggest using another card instead. You may also try the rest of the funding methods available to you.
